performative portraits

me in body,
series of performative portraits, 2025

in this series, i approach the body as a living architecture, a space that exists only in a relation to another body, to an image, or to an absence.

i performed with my duo partner Chloe in front of projections of fragmented sculptures : the Venus de Milo and the Winged Victory of Samothrace. i was intrigued by the way my body light revealed their fragments, and how their absences entered into dialogue with my shadows.

through blur and erasure, our bodies become matter and a form that exceeds us, a shared body sculpted by the photographs.

even if the final piece is fixed, the body is still performing.
